Meet The Staff:
Kay S. Jones, Director
Kay began her journey with Alzheimer's as a caregiver for her mother in 1985. Her experience as a caregiver quickly brought to light the need for a support system in the Wiregrass area. She used her experiences as a caregiver and a former corporate officer to help establish the first organized support group for families of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Since that time, Kay has remained an advocate for raising awareness for the needs of Alzheimer's patients, caregivers, family members and funding that is so vital to research and services.
The establishment of the Alzheimer's Resource Center was Kay's dream for many years. She envisioned a place that people would feel comfortable coming for help as they faced day to day issues with Alzheimer's disease. A place where there was respect and dignity for persons with Alzheimer's disease. A place that would offer educational programs, compassionate services, family support, research funding, and advocacy. Today, that dream is a reality.
